To find out what colors compliment your skin tone do thids trick. Put a white paper next to your face and the colors from your skin should pop out or simply look at the color of your vein... If it is green you are a warm if it is blue you are cool. Warm colors are usuallly orange, red and yellow. I'm guessing you are warm... So Choose any color that has red, yellow or orangeWhat color should highlights for black be if you want something that won't stand out a lot?
Ever tried henna for hair? Unlike dye, it's a natural pigment that coats your hair. Your hair would remain black but you would see highlight under different lighting.

I bought my supply here http://www.mehandi.com/shop/hairhenna.ht鈥?/a> and did the coating myself.
Try a medium brown...that would probably be pretty...

Try any of these shades from Garnier Nutrisse---

Sweet Cola

Dark Chocolate

Cocoa Bean

Cool Tea
